In
June of 1980 I received my Masters Degree in Education from California
State University at Sacramento. Armed with my degree, I set off
to find employment as a teacher, with my first choice being an instructor
at the community college level. While waiting to break into the
teaching ranks, I looked for temporary employment.
In
October of 1980 I took a "temporary position" as a Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselor trainee with Voc-Aid, Incorporated located
in the City of Santa Ana, knowing that it was just a matter of time
before I would find a job in the community college system. Sixteen
years later, I found myself still with Voc-Aid, working as a Vocational
Rehabilitation Counselor and no longer interested in a teaching
position. I had found counseling to be challenging, rewarding, stimulating
and fun.
On
January 3, 1997, I established my own company - Career Development,
Incorporated.
Starting
with one office in Santa Ana, I have worked and continue to work, toward establishing
and maintaining a vocational rehabilitation firm which can provide
superior, cost effective services in English and Spanish. For seven years the administrative office was located in the city of Santa Ana. In December of 2004, the administrative office was moved to the city of Orange.
I
associate myself with various professional organizations (American Board of Vocational Experts, International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals and Orange County Bar Association) in order to keep abreast of the ever-changing system and to learn new and innovative ways of handling cases in order to meet their respective needs.
I
welcome the opportunity to meet with you personally and discuss
how I personally or we, at Career Development, may be of
service to you..
